Facebook Plans to Give Developers OK to Mine Personal Information

Facebook's made such an impact on our lives, businesses and organizations. It really is a great way to reach out to new (and old) friends, prospect, clients, etc., perfect for social marketing campaigns and the like. But with any new technology, mass marketers, corporate and "bad guys" find ways to make more money with the help of your data.
Just last week, Facebook released a statement noting that they're considering to allow application developers to get access to private information, such as phone numbers and addresses. Though Facebook plans to revamp its privacy permissions screen to keep users aware of sharing criteria, it's still very scary. And here's why.

Visit us at the NJECC Conference March 15th

The NJECC, or known as the NJ Educational Computing Cooperative, is a fantastic organization dedicated to all things technology for our school system. Comprised of network admins, curriculum coordinators and such, NJECC is unique in its approach to share ideas for new hardware and software in an open and warm forum.
We'll be attending their Annual Conference on Tuesday, March 15th at Montclair State University featuring Pano Logic Zero Clients for Desktop Virtualization. Learn more about the NJECC by visiting the NJECC on the web.

e-Recycling is Now a Law

Effective January 1, all consumers and businesses are now required to recycle all computers and electronics. While locations are available throughout the state that offer free services, they DO NOT offer any responsibility for removing data from hard drives. Furthermore, they will not be held liable for data removal or protection, as stated online at NJ.Gov. Unfortunately, this leaves you at high risk.
Link High Technologies, in partnership with Guardian Data Destruction services, is equipped to handle all your data destruction and logistics needs from hard drive erasures to full shredding. We can arrange to have services performed onsite, allowing you to witness the process, providing you with another layer of security.  Need full disposing of computers, we can take care of that as well. With spring in the air, it might be a good time to start cleaning out those storage closets!
